du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), showcased its IoT Smart District Portfolio by participating as the official ICT Partner at the 5th IoT Middle East 2020. The one-day conference welcomed 35 speakers and over 400 C-level attendees from cross industries as this year’s edition primarily focused on IoT, Smart Cities and Digital Health.

Working closely with many government and private entities, du has further enhanced its IoT Smart District portfolio to offer off the shelf use cases, which find its applications in multiple settings including the UAE healthcare sector. At the event, du’s solution portfolio at IoT Middle East 2020 incorporated and supported multiple use case and applications including AI monitoring, mobile asset tracking, energy management, predictive analytics and wireless sensing network.

Several topics regarding Smart Cities were on the agenda, while highlights on the main stage included a fireside chat on business and digital transformation with Marwan Bin Dalmook, Senior Vice President – ICT Commercial and Business Development – Enterprise Solutions, du. There was also a panel discussion with Jose Fernandez Senior Director of IoT and Emerging Technologies, du, who shared his insights on being disrupting in business logic monetizing IoT within ecosystems. Finally, a case study was presented by Dr. Mohammad Al Awadi, Senior Director of Business Development Smart City, du, on IoT uses cases in urban planning and infrastructure.

During the conference, du also promoted its ICT status, IoT e-health offerings, and the new e-health partnership with Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) which has pledged to provide state-of-the-art and best in-class applications to patients and clinicians at MOHAP’s healthcare facilities, in line with the UAE’s Vision 2021.
